Ode to the Baltic Capitals

Art nouveau structures all leaving their mark,

Old beautiful buildings surrounded by parks.

The freedom monument in the middle for all to share

With my favorite coffee shop a minute walk from there.

Then off to Vilnius, more western and bright,

At the top of the tower, where Gediminas took flight!

Bright at 11, the sun was never gone,

The edge of the city marked The Gates of Dawn.

Last stop Tallinn, all rainy and cool,

So many castle towers where kings used to rule.

Museums, shops, and restaurants, all stood medieval,

We acted like brave knights until our retrieval.

I can’t wait to go back, to see my three friends,

But for now I’ll write this ode until we again mend.
